"You folks are the best! When I discovered that hot water was not circulating through our radiators, I was eager to make sure we had heat on the first frosty morning. Well, your service department was pleasant, helpful and sent Tom out to repair the problem. He came out within a half hour of my call! (and was) clean, neat, thorough, (and) competent. Thanks for great service."

How to know When It Is Time for an upgrade

January 13, 2021

Is your heating system struggling to pull its weight this year? It could be time to upgrade your equipment! There are a few things to consider when deciding whether or not an upgrade is necessary, and we’d like to share them with you now.

System Age

A lot can change over time, including the technology used in heating equipment. If you’re using a furnace or boiler from more than a decade ago, you could be missing out on some of those advancements, including better comfort control and overall coverage.

Frequency of Repairs

A car is considered totaled when the cost of repairs exceeds the car’s value. This same train of thought can be applied to your heating system equipment! When you start throwing money at your heating equipment to keep it running and it’s exceeding the amount you could spend on a new heating system, total it!

Weak Airflow

Although this can be a result of dusty vents or dirty and clogged air filters, weak airflow can also come about when the equipment has been in service for many years. If regular maintenance doesn’t help, an upgrade certainly will.

 Heating Costs

This is a big one – does it cost you more this year to run your heating system than it did last year? Or the year before? If your heating costs are increasing over time even with proper maintenance, the age of the system could be causing a drop in energy efficiency. Luckily, modern heating systems boast much higher efficiency ratings!

"Big thank you to truck 27 (driver initials EVA I think) he came out same day, filled our tank, even got through the huge pile of snow from it falling off our roof. Then came in and restarted the furnace. He was kind, quick and friendly. Thanks so much for all your help!"
